GUATEMALA:
I was deeply honored to be invited as a keynote speaker to share more than a decade of research and conservation work focused on the Critically Endangered Abronia campbelli at the first National Congress of Herpetology, organized by the Guatemalan Herpetology Association.
As part of the closing activities, I was also invited to participate in a special public reading from my chapter in the book Women in Herpetology, titled “From Dragons to People.” This event was open to families and the general public, and it was especially meaningful to share this story with children in attendance. The chapter reflects on the personal dimension of conserving Abronia campbelli and the human relationships that sustain long-term conservation efforts.

WORLD CONGRESS OF HERPETOLOGY 2024:
As part of the conference programming we hosted a lunch with over 150 people attending. We gave a talk about our work, hosted a dinner with the authors and awardees and had a table to promote the book. We got very motivated by the positive response from everyone involved with the project and from the book audience.
