Scholarship awardees
We established a conference scholarship using the proceeds from the book sales. The goal of the scholarships is to increase recruitment and retention in science for women from underrepresented countries and regions.
In 2024 we supported the conference registration, lodging, and international travel costs for seven women students from five underrepresented countries (Bangladesh, Indonesia, Philippines, Nepal, Taiwan) to attend the World Congress of Herpetology in Malaysia.
Our scholarship awardees had a great time at the conference, they presented their research, met the Women in Herpetology book authors, and did a fieldtrip to enjoy the herpetofauna of Malaysia!
